Every angle of this historic 19th-century church has been thoughtfully restored to combine old-world charm with modern luxury. Here are a few of our favorite features from a photographer’s perspective:

1. The Iconic Front Steps & Courtyard Fountain

The moment you arrive, the exterior sets a timeless tone.

• The Front Steps: The grand stone entrance provides the ultimate backdrop for clean, editorial wedding party portraits, family photos, or a grand exit.
• The Courtyard Fountain: Tucked in the paved outdoor courtyard, the fountain adds a romantic, European-villa feel. It’s one of our favorite spots for a quiet first look or sunset portraits of the newlyweds.

2. An Effortless Getting-Ready Experience: The Monastery Guest House (across the street!)

While The Monastery Event Center includes dedicated suites on-site for the wedding party, one of the best kept secrets for a seamless wedding morning is The Monastery Guest House. Located directly across the street from the venue on St. Paul Place in Mt. Adams, this optional add-on is a beautifully renovated, luxury single-family home (3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths) designed with comfort and style in mind.

Having access to the house right across the street completely removes the morning timeline stress. Instead of rushing between hotel rooms or shuffling hair and makeup teams through tight spaces, your wedding party can relax, pop champagne & get ready in a sunlit, spacious setting.

3. The Sunlit Ceremony Space

Inside the main hall, the ceilings, exposed brick, and massive archways create an unforgettable setting for your vows. The light trickles through the windows in a way that creates incredible depth and drama in photos—giving your ceremony an intimate, sacred feel.

3. The Outdoor Cocktail Hour Space

Cocktail hour flows seamlessly into the private outdoor courtyard. Your guests can mingle comfortably with a drink under the tent or near the fountain – I love seeing the guests walk around the grounds & explore all the pretty spots all over Mt. Adams!
